»The journey is movement. Not only of the body, but also of perception. The journey is a continuous reinvention of our thoughts and senses in front of new landscapes and faces ...«
Le Breton D.
Just as good traveller loves to set off to explore the world – alone at first, and then sometimes in the company of people who they are inspired by and in whom they have confidence - we artists also often love to represent in our universe the meeting of places and people who inhabit our daily life, or surprise us precisely for their otherness.
Being ready to know and be known has always given us the possibility of building a cultural consciousness made of mixtures, diversity, pluralisms and identity. In these few elements over the years we have traced, along with Italo Bergantini, some of our "travel" maps.
Together, or at a distance, but always feeling on the road with ... something, someone ... who brings us back to a future somewhere else, we have orientated ourselves in the contemporary world, tracing new journeys beyond the unavoidable possibility of comparison, awaiting a departure, an arrival or a new threshold. A threshold, that Romberg today returns to cross, no longer alone but with the artists Beti Bricelj, Tina Dobrajc, Dušan Fišer, Mito Gegič, Aleksij Kobal, Miha Štrukelj, Uroš Potočnik and Jurij Zadnikar. United by the language of painting yet different from each other, we open up to unique paths and styles among geometric compositions, deconstructions, analytical constructions, synthesis, narrative dialogues and new symbolic or dreamlike perceptions and perspectives.
The exhibition Travelling with ... was born as a landing point of a journey that has conducted us in recent years along with Art Stays among the characters of a cultural renewal identified in Europe, pursued and promoted in the Slovenian territory and now present here.
